Matt Cardle relies on 'lucky' socks
'X Factor' hunk Matt Cardle wears ''lucky green, check socks'' every time he performs live on the show
Matt Cardle wears "lucky green, check socks" every time he performs on 'The X Factor'.
The Essex hunk - who has quickly become favourite to win the competition - wears the same pair of woolly feet-warmers every week because he has grown so superstitious.
He said: "I have lucky green, check socks. I wear them every time I perform. Every time it's been a moment I've had to get through, I've worn them and I've got through, but I do wash them."
Matt is not the only contestant who relies on lucky charms to help him cope with the pressures.
Pretty singer Rebecca Fergusson has been wearing her mother's pearl necklace since her very first audition.
She told the official 'X Factor website: "I normally have me lucky pearl necklace. It's my mums. She doesn't have much jewellery and she's let me use it. I got through the judges' houses and I got through the first round with it on. I pretty much wore it all through Bootcamp and everything."
Although Treyc Cohen isn't superstitious like some of the others, she admits she has to go to the toilet numerous times before she goes out on stage.
She explained: "I don't have a ritual, but I do have to go to the toilet a million times."
Matt added: "Yep, I always end up going to the loo every two minutes before I go on."
