Michelle Keegan's barmaid nerves
'Coronation Street's Michelle Keegan is nervous about her character's new job as a barmaid at the Rovers Return inn
Michelle Keegan is "nervous" her 'Coronation Street' character is set to become a Rovers Return barmaid.
The actress - who plays sexy Tina McIntyre in the soap - admits she is nervous about getting behind the soap's bar, even though she already has experience pulling pints.
She said: "It may sound silly but I'm actually a little nervous about it. It's a huge thing to work in the Rovers. I used to work at my dad's local so at least I know I can pull a good pint. I pull a mean Guinness, although you won't be getting a shamrock on the top as all I can do is smiley faces.
"To become the soap's newest barmaid in its 50th year is just incredible."
Tina will replace character Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard) as barmaid in the pub, run by Weatherfield's Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and wife Becky McDonald (Katherine Kelly).
She is also thrilled about the glamorous new wardrobe her alter-ego will get to wear in her new job.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: "Tina decides that she wants to move on from the Kabin. I guess they felt that she needed a change. And hopefully Tina will finally ditch the hoodies!
"I doubt they'll make her too sexy but I think she'll be getting a few new outfits now that she's going to be working behind the bar."
