Paije Richardson's 'great' Cowell comments
'X Factor' contestant Paije Richardson admits he finds it flattering that Simon Cowell has said he's a huge fan of his voice
Paije Richardson is flattered Simon Cowell thinks he can win 'The X Factor'.
The contestant - who has been forced to pull out of rehearsals this week after his beloved grandmother passed away - admits it "feels great" the music mogul has spoken out in praise of his singing voice, and makes him want to work harder.
He told X magazine: "It feels great. I don't know, I mean, I don't know how to put this - I'm confident but I'm not like overly confident. So to have like someone backing and someone liking you and someone who has such an insight into the industry, it makes you feel good about yourself.
"I think that makes it even more exciting. It makes you want to go and do better every week. I just want to show everyone now that I deserve my place in the competition."
Simon recently commented: "I think we've really underestimated him."
The 19-year-old contestant was mentor Dannii Minogue's wildcard choice in the show, after he failed to secure a spot in her final three.
However, Paije still hopes he's got a good chance at winning.
He said: "Everybody wants to win. There's no point entering a contest if you don't want to win. But I don't know if I can, but I would like to. So please, please, please vote for me, people."
