'Coronation Street' stars Steven Arnold and Julia Haworth are reportedly being lined up to compete in reality TV show 'Dancing On Ice' following their departure from the ITV1 soap later in the year.
'Coronation Street's Steven Arnold and Julia Haworth are reportedly being lined up for 'Dancing On Ice'.
The pair - who play on-screen couple Ashley and Claire Peacock in the ITV1 soap - are leaving the show at the end of the year, and reportedly plan to take part in the upcoming series of the ice-skating reality TV competition.
An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: "They both want to hit the ground running once they finish 'Corrie'. 'Dancing On Ice' will be a great platform."
Other stars linked to the sixth series of the show - which begins in January - include former 'Coronation Street' actress and 'Loose Women' panellist Denise Welch, as well as ex-Steps singer Faye Tozer.
Steven, 35, - who has played butcher Ashley for the past 14 years - and Julia, 31, are believed to be leaving the soap in an "explosive" storyline that will see them bow out around the time of the show's 50th anniversary at the end of this year.
'Coronation Street' producer Phil Collinson recently revealed: "Ashley and Claire have been part of the fabric of Weatherfield for many years. But like any community, people come and go. The actors and myself felt we'd reached a crossroads. We mutually decided to start working towards an exit."
