Fern Britton's Strictly Christmas dance
Former 'This Morning' presenter Fern Britton has reportedly signed up to compete in the Christmas special of 'Strictly Come Dancing'
Fern Britton has signed up to compete in the Christmas 'Strictly Come Dancing' special.
The former 'This Morning' presenter - who has recently lost six stone in weight after having a gastric band fitted in 2006 - is reportedly thrilled to have been asked to take part in the show.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Fern's really excited about taking part and is watching the current series for inspiration. She says she'll be nervous when it comes to facing the judges.
"The 'Strictly' bosses are really happy she's signed up, too. They know viewers want to see what she'll look like in the typical 'Strictly' frocks now she's lost all that weight."
This won't be the first time the 53-year-old star has danced in a reality show.
Last year, Fern took part in 'Let's Dance for Comic Relief'.
The source added: "There's no way of knowing yet if she'll be up to scratch in the Latin and ballroom numbers - but she did very well in 'Let's Dance'."
Last year, the one-off show was won by 'Hollyoaks' actress Ali Bastian.
