Katie Waissel 'own worst enemy'
'X Factor' creative director Brian Friedman is a big fan of Katie Waissel, but thinks the 24-year-old hopeful is ''her own worst enemy''
'X Factor' hopeful Katie Waissel is "her own worst enemy".
Brian Friedman - the ITV1 show's creative director - is a big fan of the quirky singer, but admits he can see why she was in the bottom three on Sunday night's (10.10.10) results show, because the public haven't warmed to her yet.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "To be honest, Katie is her own worst enemy. I can see why the public haven't taken to her, but she is one of my favourite contestants.
"She's individual and kooky and she totally, totally deserves her place in the finals. She's one of the acts who has managed to stay true to herself throughout this whole process, but the public just don't get to see how hard she works."
However, the choreographer doesn't think boyband F.Y.D. - who were mentored music mogul judge Simon Cowell - should have been voted off the show by judges Dannii Minogue, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole, who all chose to save 24-year-old Katie.
Speaking at the launch of the Indesit Party Launderette, Brian added: "It's such a shame, a band always seems to go in the first week. But those guys didn't deserve it, they were awesome and hopefully they can still do something off the back of 'The X Factor'."
