Patsy Palmer's 'biggie' departure
Patsy Palmer is to exit 'EastEnders' with a major storyline when she temporarily leaves the BBC One soap to give birth to her fourth child.
Patsy Palmer is to bow out of 'EastEnders' with a "biggie" departure storyline.
The 38-year-old actress - who is expecting her fourth child in December - will be returning to the BBC One soap in the future, but is set to film explosive exit scenes to mark her character Bianca Butcher's temporary break from Albert Square.
'EastEnders' executive producer Bryan Kirkwood told Inside Soap magazine: "Patsy will be returning. Her exit storyline is a biggie.
"We asked what would take Bianca away from her family and came up with the only possible answer. So all that is set to play out over the coming months."
The actress returned to the show in April 2008, following a nine-year break.
In recent months viewers have seen her loudmouth alter-ego marry on/off lover Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen) for the second time, and cope with the tragic death of her half-brother Billie (Devon Anderson).
However, Patsy recently admitted she prefers it when Bianca and Ricky are at each other's throats, and joked that her character should have an affair with Walford wimp Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick).
She said: "I actually prefer it when Ricky and Bianca aren't together. Perhaps Bianca and Billy could have a little fling! She likes the down to earth types, but she'd end up getting bored of him pretty quickly."
