Katie Waissel visits home
'X Factor' hopeful Katie Waissel has reportedly been allowed to return home amid fears she will quit the competition after finding herself in the bottom three on Sunday evening (10.10.10)
Katie Waissel has been allowed to return home amid fears she will quit 'The X Factor'.
The 24-year-old singer - who failed to impress the public with her kooky rendition of Queen's 'We Are The Champions' on Saturday night (09.10.10) - is said to be feeling down after finding herself in the bottom three on Sunday's elimination show and so was given permission to visit her parents and sister in the hope of reviving her confidence.
An 'X Factor' insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Katie was really down after the weekend and was saying on Monday she would walk away from the show if they continue to make her wear crazy outfits and portray her badly.
"Katie really wants to turn things around and get the public on side and she has been hurt by all the criticism. She has even been given special permission to go home to see her parents and sister for some moral support and some affection to help her get her confidence back."
Meanwhile, Robbie Williams - who shot to fame with Take That aged just 16 - has expressed his concern for "fragile" 17-year-old hopeful Cher Lloyd, saying he doesn't think she should have got through to the live finals stage of the ITV1 competition.
He told X Magazine: "I wasn't as fragile as she is when I was 16. I want to give her a call but I don't know if I can help. She's going through a difficult time. It's not the best set-up for her.
"She's not going to have a good time this year. She's obviously got it. But she'd have done well not to get through and have another year to come to terms with her personal life."
