Danny Miller's Emmerdale love shock
'Emmerdale' actor Danny Miller is surprised fans are upset by his relationship with co-star Kirsty Leigh Porter
Danny Miller was upset 'Emmerdale' fans reacted badly to his relationship with Kirsty Leigh Porter.
The 19-year-old actor - who has been dating his co-star since earlier this year - admits he was shocked some fans had a problem with the news but they are trying hard to ignore any negativity.
Danny - who plays gay teen Aaron Livesy in the ITV soap - told BANG Showbiz: "We knew this was going to come out, we had four months of it behind closed doors that no one knew about and it's only in the past two months since it's come out that we're together that it's caused any problems really. I think a lot of people have just had their visions crushed almost and that's it, they're just a bit upset but we're getting on with it, we're very happy together and that's all that matters really."
Kirsty plays cocaine dealer Roz Fielding in the show, and the pair grew close shortly after she joined in April this year.
Danny believes the recent storyline - where his character came out as gay - could be responsible for the negative reaction from fans, but is adamant he won't apologise for having a girlfriend.
He explained: "It's more lads who have a problem with it. Lads in general may have thought I might be gay, but unfortunately I'm not and I do sort of apologise sometimes for ruining that for them but I don't apologise for having a girlfriend. I'm very happy where I am. We're in a bit of a bubble while we're filming anyway so we don't have too much hassle. We're very private."
