Piers Morgan confirms BGT departure
'Britain's Got Talent' judge Piers Morgan has confirmed he will have to leave the variety show to focus on his new US CNN chatshow, replacing 'Larry King Live'
Paul O'Grady and Sharon Osbourne could replace Piers Morgan on 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The chat show host and former 'X Factor' judge are reportedly being considered to join Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden on the judging panel of the variety show, after former newspaper editor Piers confirmed he is quitting for his new CNN chatshow.
He said: "Sadly, I can now confirm that I will have to quit 'Britain's Got Talent', as I will be ensconced in New York when the auditions are filmed next year."
The Daily Star newspaper reports: "Sources say both stars could end up on the show as Simon Cowell has also hinted he may leave next year in a massive shake-up."
Earlier this year Simon confirmed plans to launch 'The X Factor' in America next year meant the future of the two reality shows could be in jeopardy.
At the moment, it seems likely 'X Factor' will be put on hold for a year, with 'Britain's Got Talent' filling its prestigious Autumn/Winter slot. But Simon's input is uncertain.
However, both Paul and Sharon now face competition from rapper Usher - who has admitted he is desperate to work with Simon again.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I've worked with him on 'Britain's Got Talent' and I'd love to do more."
