David Platt to attempt murder?
'Coronation Street's David Platt will run his best friend Graeme Proctor over following a fight over Graeme's girlfriend and David's ex-girlfriend Tina McIntyre
David Platt will attempt to kill his best friend in 'Coronation Street'.
The Weatherfield bad boy is set to lash out at his best friend Graeme Proctor, following a feud over the David's ex-girlfriend Tina McIntyre - who has recently started dating hapless butcher Graeme.
Graeme - played by Craig Gazey - is furious when David (Jack P. Shepherd) tries to kiss Tina (Michelle Keegan) and confronts his former pal in the Rovers Return.
Following a brawl, David flees the bar for safety but will wait for revenge outside the pub before brutally mowing down Graeme in The Street. David will be breathalysed and arrested following the incident.
Executive Producer Phil Collinson told the Daily Star newspaper: "Tina and Graeme have become a solid couple on The Street, David has watched that from afar quite enviously really, because he's always carried a torch for Tina. The happier they get, the angrier he gets. One terrible night that anger spills over and poor old Graeme ends up in hospital."
Viewers had recently seen a more pleasant side to David as he battled to save mum Gail - played by Helen Worth - who was falsely imprisoned for the murder of her husband Joe McIntyre (Reece Dinsdale).
However, Phil hinted this storyline could see a return to David's bad boy ways.
He said: "I think the best characters are never black or white, they're grey."
