Sam Clark 'ready to leave Neighbours'
Australian actor Sam Clark has revealed he was ready to leave behind his role of Ringo Brown in 'Neighbours', as it was time to try something new
'Neighbours' actor Sam Clark was ready to leave the Australian soap.
The 22-year-old actor - who played Ringo Brown in the show - admits his fellow cast mates became "like a family" to him, but he felt it was time to try something new.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "The time restraints of 'Neighbours' meant I couldn't devote as much time to my music as I wanted, so it was definitely the right time to leave. It was still very difficult to leave full-time secure acting work to go into the great unknown, but I felt I had to do it.
"'Neighbours' has been a massive part of my life ever since I finished school. Everyone became like my family. I saw them even more than I saw my own family."
Despite currently embarking upon a music career, the hunky star hasn't ruled out returning to the show in the future.
He said: "It's up to the scriptwriters, I suppose, but I'm not limiting myself in any way. If the right storyline comes up, I'll grasp it with both hands. I did give four good years to 'Neighbours' so I would like the challenge of a new show, but at the same time I do miss playing Ringo."
However, Sam - who is currently promoting his debut album 'Take Me Home' in the UK - is struggling to get to grips with the hysterical 'Neighbours' fans he has met.
He added: "I've had a lot of girls crying so far - hopefully they're crying in a positive way. I have no idea how to deal with all that stuff, it's mental! Who knows how crazy they're going to get!"
Sam Clark releases his double A side debut single 'Devastated' and 'Suddenly' on October 10.
