'X Factor' judges Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole are reportedly at war, with the pop star feeling as though she's been made a ''scapegoat'' over her decision to leave Gamu Nhengu out of the live finals stage of the competition
Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole are reportedly at war.
The 'X Factor' judges are said to have fallen out over the 'Fight for This Love' hitmaker's decision to drop Zimbabwe-born hopeful Gamu Nhengu from the talent search show on Sunday (03.10.10).
Cheryl was allegedly forced to leave the 18-year-old singer out of her final line-up due to concerns over her visa application, and is now unhappy she has been made a "scapegoat" in a bid to boost the ratings of the ITV1 show.
However, music mogul Simon Cowell reportedly believes the controversial decision was all the 27-year-old star's own making.
An insider told The Mirror newspaper: "It was her choice and her choice only. All this is completely her own doing. Cheryl has found to her cost how ratings come first and your personal reputation second.
"She feels she was just following instructions and now is being cast as the villain of the piece."
Despite the claims, Brian Friedman, the show's creative director, insists Cheryl's decision to leave Gamu out of the live finals was because she didn't think she was ready for it.
He told BANG Showbiz: "I spoke to Cheryl the night she did her judges homes and asked her about who she chose and why she chose them. And I said the same thing, 'I love Gamu, how come Gamu didn't make it?' and she gave exactly the same reasons she gave on the show. All of the different pros and cons and I back Cheryl on those decisions.
"I haven't spoken to her since all the drama. Right now all the focus needs to be on the acts she did put through, as they have to perform this weekend."
Meanwhile, Simon Cowell has reportedly sacked new 'X Factor' vocal coach Ali Tennant just three days before the final twelve acts are set to take to the stage for the live finals on Saturday (09.10.10).
After seeing poor performances from his acts in rehearsals, the 50-year-old star made the decision to reinstate Yvie Burnett, who was let go from the ITV1 show after the last series.
