Cher Lloyd 'coping well' with X Factor
'X Factor' choreographer Brian Friedman has revealed Cher Lloyd is ''coping well'' with her rehearsal schedule and is going to surprise people with her performance on the first live show on Saturday (09.10.10)
Cher Lloyd is "coping well" with 'X Factor' rehearsals.
The 17-year-old singer - who has been subjected to tabloid rumours she is not dealing well with the pressures of fame the show is bringing her - is doing fine, the show's creative director Brian Friedman has claimed.
He told BANG Showbiz at the PUMA After Hours launch party at the All Star Bowling Lanes: "She is coping great, she's really coping well. I'm pleasantly surprised. From what we saw at judges' homes she was weak, she forgot her lyrics, she just seemed a little bit dishevelled.
"That was a worry for me. I thought once I got in a room with her she might be hesitant about getting directions and choreography because she was so concerned with her vocals, just... being in pieces. But it was completely different. She had it together and she knew where she wanted to go."
Brian also revealed Cher - who is being compared to a young Cheryl Cole - is going to perform a song on Saturday night's first live show (09.10.10) which will surprise many people.
He said: "She was really solid on her song. It's not a song you would think she would be doing. It's a really good mix up, she has a lot of different elements in this song. I'm looking forward to seeing it."
Brian added rehearsals with former supermarket worker Mary Byrne have been going well, although they have hit a problem as she has become sick.
He said: "Mary Byrne blew me away. She knows how to work her body. She blew me away in rehearsals, she sounded brilliant. It is that big, bold kind of crooner voice, but what she does, she does really well.
She is in a good place right now, although she is sick, she's ill today, she's come round with a bug. I'm hoping she can pull it together for Saturday."
