Cher Lloyd's uncle grief
'The X Factor' hopeful Cher Lloyd is said to be grief-stricken over the unexpected death of her 34-year-old uncle Edward.
'The X Factor's Cher Lloyd is grief-stricken over the sudden death of her uncle.
The 17-year-old hopeful - who was granted a place in the judges' houses stage of the talent search competition last night (26.09.10) - is being comforted at home by her family after hearing her uncle Edward had suddenly passed away on Friday at the age of just 34.
An insider said: "Cher has obviously been very upset since finding out about her uncle. She's already been under a lot of pressure in the competition. It's a testing time for her - and now something awful like this has happened."
The petite brunette - who has already raised concern among the show's bosses after she was spotted looking frail and nervous at the boot camp stage of the competition - was said to be particularly close to Edward, who also lived in her hometown of Malvern, Worcestershire.
However, despite her personal trauma, the singer is said to be more determined than ever to succeed on the ITV1 show.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "Cher really wants to succeed. Her drive could yet see her through."
