Joe McElderry gets nervous when he watches 'The X Factor'.
The pop star - who rose to fame after winning the singing competition last year - admits it's difficult for him to tune into the new series of the ITV1 show because it reminds him of the nerves he used to feel as a contestant.
He said: "I get nervous every time I watch it. I feel really strange watching it and you know how they feel at that point where they are now. The contestants have no idea what is going to happen. They know they are through to boot camp, but once you're through you still wonder what you have to expect and how many songs you have to learn.
"It's such a stressful time but they'll have the best experience ever."
The 19-year-old star's debut single 'The Climb' topped the charts when it was released last December and he is currently preparing to release his follow-up album 'Wide Awake' on October 25.
To coincide with the release, Joe will also perform his single 'Ambitions' on this year's series of 'The X Factor'.
However, the thought of singing in front of judges Cheryl Cole, Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue is giving Joe "butterflies".
He explained to the Daily Record newspaper: "I'm really excited about it. I've got to go on 'The X Factor' again and I've got butterflies already. It kind of feels like it's the first live show again but obviously this is the fun part now and it's a great opportunity to go back on."
