Jimi Mistry Strictly scared of Dancing
Jimi Mistry admits he is scared about learning the routines on 'Strictly Come Dancing' because he only knows how to do 80s routine the robot
Jimi Mistry is scared of learning complex routines on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 'East is East' actor admits he enjoys dancing but is more used to trying famed 80s routine the robot over ballroom or fox trot.
He said: "While I can relate to a little bit of slinky hip-action, the whole ballroom foxy-trotty stuff I've never really had to do. From the age of about 10 to 15 I had this affliction for robotics and breakdancing."
Although he fears he could struggle in the competition, Jimi hopes his "obsession" with King of Pop Michael Jackson as a child might help him out.
He added: "I was obsessed with Michael Jackson. I used to breakdance and spend a lot of nights in the garage of my house learning the moves to 'Thriller'.
"I've always liked to express myself through music and dance."
The 37-year-old star also admits taking part in the show - in which he is partnered with Flavia Cacace - is a chance for him to "scratch a massive itch".
He said: "I've always moved in my films but it's not been me playing a proper dancer.
"So this is a good opportunity for me to scratch a massive itch that had been gnawing away for years."
