X Factor wannabe attacks love rival
'X Factor' hopeful Hazel Jackson, 70, appeared in court last week, pleading guilty of attacking her estranged husband's new girlfriend.
'X Factor' hopeful Hazel Jackson has admitted attacking her estranged husband's new girlfriend.
The 70-year-old woman - who appeared on the pop star search show at the weekend in a bid to win back the spouse who left her - appeared in Trafford Magistrates Court in last week, where she pleaded guilty to assaulting Susan Taafe and damaging her property.
Hazel admitted she was "ashamed" of her actions, but that she was heartbroken after Ken Jackson left her after 34 years together.
She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £20 in compensation.
Hazel turned up at Susan's house on August 24, after learning they were living together.
She tried to force her way in, but Susan blocked her and Hazel left her with scratches on her face and arms and knocked over and around the garden.
Speaking of her performance on the show, she said: "He never looked at another woman before this. We were the perfect couple - anybody would tell you that. Everything I did on 'The X Factor' was for my love of Ken."
Flirty Hazel was a favourite with the judges on the show - particularly male panel members Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell - but missed out on a spot in boot camp because her vocals weren't strong enough.
