James Sutton to quit Emmerdale?
'Emmerdale' bosses are worried James Sutton is set to be the fourth actor to quit the soap this year after telling them he is considering his options
'Emmerdale' bosses fear James Sutton is set to quit the soap.
The actor - who plays mechanic Ryan Lamb in the rural ITV show - is currently signed up until March, but programme chiefs are pushing him to sign a new contract so he remains part of the cast.
They are reportedly worried the 27-year-old actor will be the fourth cast member to leave in as many months, after splitting from his real-life girlfriend Sammy Winward.
An insider told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "After the Wylde clan dropped off one-by-one, they started storylining big plans for James' character Ryan, who is massively popular with viewers. The plan was to get him out of jail and back in the village by New Year.
"But that could all change if James doesn't sign up again. He's just not happy in Leeds now he's split with Sammy."
James has told bosses he is considering his options after moving from Leeds following his break-up in July, to the flat in Liverpool he bought when he starred in 'Hollyoaks'.
Actress Alice Coulthard - who plays Ryan's half-sister Maisie Wylde - announced in June she was leaving at Christmas. Amanda Donohoe, who portrays his step-mum Natasha Wylde, decided to leave in July, and Lyndon Ogbourne, quit the role of Nathan Wylde last month.
Soap chiefs are now searching for a replacement family to live in Home Farm.
James recently admitted he has already planned his dramatic exit from the show.
The actor said he would want Ryan to be killed in an "explosion", before adding: "That's a bit of a cliche. actually, being eaten by piranhas and sharks - that's how I want to go."
