Simon Cowell's negative nephew
Simon Cowell's nephew - singer and producer Labrinth - believes he wouldn't even get past the first round on his uncle's talent show search, 'The X Factor'
Simon Cowell's nephew doesn't think he would get past the first round of 'The X Factor'.
Singer-and-producer Labrinth doubts he would make it through to the Boot Camp stage of the reality TV contest if he auditioned for his famous uncle and fellow judges Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I would just be terrible on the show, man - I don't think it would work for me, I don't think I would get past the first round, to tell you the truth.
"I don't think I could be singing other people's songs through a whole show."
Labrinth - who has enjoyed chart success as producer and guest singer on Tinie Tempah's number one singles 'Pass Out' and 'Frisky' - is signed to Syco, Simon's record label, where he has his own imprint to develop artists and has a role is closer to that of his uncle, rather than a contestant on one of his shows.
He added: "More than just myself I can create artists, so I think he sees that in me and that's why he's given me my own imprint in Syco. And I think he believes I could make it without him as well."
'Let The Sunshine In', Labrinth's debut single as a solo artist, is released on September 27.
