'Britain's Got Talent' judge Amanda Holden admits she thinks the variety show will replace 'The X Factor' next year
Amanda Holden expects 'Britain's Got Talent' to replace 'The X Factor' next year.
The actress - who has appeared as a judge on the talent show alongside Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell since 2007 - has confirmed ITV1 bosses are planning to move the variety competition into 'The X Factor's primetime slot in 2011, although she is unsure whether she will be taking part or not.
She tweeted: "To clear up any confusion. BGT will prob go into X factor slot next year. I HAVE been asked to do it BUT we need to sort my Shrek schedule!
"I ain't got the chop baby! X"
At the moment, 'Britain's Got Talent' runs from spring to the beginning of summer, while 'X Factor' has the more prestigious slot from the end of summer to the week before Christmas, when ratings are normally higher.
Amanda, 39, is currently preparing to play Princess Fiona in a stage adaption of the hit movie 'Shrek', and is unsure about whether she will have time in her schedule to work on 'Britain's Got Talent' too.
Piers' appearance on the judging panel is also up in the air, after he signed a contract to have his own talk show in America, replacing Larry King from January next year.
Amanda also admitted that rumours her pal Simon is planning to take a year off filming of 'The X Factor', so he can launch it the show America are true.
She explained: "Think its being rested for a year so Simon can focus on US version x (sic)"
However, she is certain the music mogul will return to the British version once it has become established overseas.
When a fan tweeted if this year's 'X Factor' was to be the last one ever, she replied: "Have no idea. Its huge so I doubt it x (sic)"
Simon recently said: "At the moment you are going to see me doing one show next year - and not one in England.
"I have a contract for this year and that is it.
"'The X Factor' will have to move. Do people want it back? I am going to sit it out for a few more weeks before I make a final decision. And it has to be fun. The minute it stops being fun, bye bye."
