X Factor hopefuls return from finals
Kalvin Lamey and Matthew 'Boots' Newton from hopeful 'X Factor' boy band FYD previously worked on the show as backing dancers in last year's live finals.
Two members of 'X Factor' hopefuls FYD have previously worked on the show.
Kalvin Lamey and Matthew 'Boots' Newton - two fifths of the quintet, whose name stands for For Your Destiny - decided to audition this year after a stint as backing dancers on the live finals of the last series, where they shared the stage with Jedward and Danyl Johnson.
A source said: "Boots and Kalvin worked on 'X Factor last year and that was when they decided they wanted to be part of the show properly so they got together with some mates to audition.
"They're worried the photos of them look bad now. It's embarrassing for them.
"They don't want the public to think it's a fix and stop voting for them."
In addition, it has also been revealed that Kalvin - who is joined in the group by Boots, Ryan Lee Seager, Alex Murdoch and Jordan Gabriel - previously performed as a drag act with The Globe Girls.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Kalvin will be horrified this has come out. Doing drag is a bit like being in disguise - he never thought anyone would recognise him under all that make-up.
"The other band members are totally supportive of his drag past."
