50 Cent's EastEnders role
50 Cent is thrilled to have landed a cameo in 'EastEnders', but is disappointed he won't be able to appear alongside Barbara Windsor's character Peggy Mitchell.
50 Cent is to have a cameo in 'EastEnders'.
The actor-and-rapper is delighted to be starring in the BBC One soap, but is disappointed he won't be able to complete his "biggest showbiz dream" of being thrown out the Queen Vic pub by recently-departed landlady Peggy Mitchell, played by Barbara Windsor.
He said: "I really wanted Peggy to throw me out of her pub, but I didn't get it organised quick enough and it's too late now.
"I've performed with Eminem and Justin Timberlake, acted with De Niro and Pacino, had a guest spot on 'The Simpsons' - in the US a sign you've made it to the very top, but I can't fulfil my biggest showbiz dream."
According to The Sun newspaper, 50 Cent - real name Curtis James Jackson III - was introduced to the show by his pal, British soccer star Rio Ferdinand, and will film his scenes sometime over the next six months.
However, this is not the first time the rapper has revealed plans to star in a British series and he recently pleaded with bosses on 'Shameless' to create a "bad a*s" character for him.
He said: "I saw it when I was over in London last year. I just thought it was a very real show, with real people. The US likes to portray the English as all drinking tea and speaking like the Queen, but this was real. It was really funny as well.
"I was laughing out loud in my hotel room watching a show that I had never heard of. I have bought the DVDs since I've been back in the US and I'd be up for doing a cameo. I am sure their writers could dream up some bad a*s character for me."
