Brian Dowling has been crowned the 'Ultimate Big Brother' champion.

The 32-year-old Irishman beat Nikki in the final to win the show in a marathon four-hour programme on the last night of the show.

The cheeky former trolley dolly confessed in his interview with Davina McCall he owed his life to the show.

He said: "It's one of the best things I could have ever done. It allowed me to be myself and allowed other people to accept you for who you are.

"The show is also about hope, in the sense that it gives people the opportunity to make their life a little bit better. I owe everything to the show, everything."

Former 'Celebrity Big Brother' winner Chantelle came in third, while Victor, 'Nasty' Nick, Preston and Ulrika were all evicted at earlier points in the show.

Nikki also gushed praise for 'Big Brother' during her eviction interview, saying: "It has meant the absolute world to me. I'm so honoured to have been part of it."

Chantelle also discussed her relationship with Preston - whom she divorced in 2007 - and admitted she hadn't gotten over their past problems.

She told Davina: "It's such a sad situation. I don't think I realised how sad it was until I spent so much time with him. I hadn't ever really got over what happened between us.
