Matt Bellamy to get 'intimate'?
Matt Bellamy is considering a series of more intimate Muse shows after the band's current stadium tour finishes.
Matt Bellamy is considering a series of more intimate Muse shows.
The singer and guitarist has just embarked on a huge stadium tour of Europe in support of last album 'The Resistance', but says his next move could be a more scaled down, introspective set, reflecting changes in his personal life.
Referring to his breakup with girlfriend Gaia Polloni at the end of 2009, Matt told Time Out magazine: "I feel like we can't go much bigger in terms of the kinds of concerts we're playing.
"Weirdly, that seems to have coincided with my personal life destabilising about a year ago. I split from a relationship. I was doing lots of self-analysing.
"I sense that that's going to lead to a writing project that will be more personal, rather than talking about grand political concerns.
"That itself might lead to material that's more suitable for smaller venues."
Matt didn't elaborate on whether he could be thinking of performing an acoustic tour or even embarking on a solo project.
The band's tour kicked off last Saturday (04.09.10) in Manchester and they play London's Wembley stadium tomorrow (10.09.10) and Saturday (11.09.10).
At the concerts the band will premiere a new video to their track 'MK Ultra' which has developed in association with MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking), and aims to raise awareness of the realities of trafficking, in particular that of children and women into forced prostitution and forced labour.
The video will then be released on website www.mtvexit.org the following Friday (17.09.10).
