Simon Cowell praises Cheryl Cole
Simon Cowell says Cheryl Cole will come back to 'The X Factor' sharper after going through her divorce and suffering with malaria
Simon Cowell has praised Cheryl Cole for coping with her divorce and malaria battle.
The 'X Factor' supremo believes the Girls Aloud singer - who was granted a decree nisi from footballer Ashley Cole yesterday (03.09.10) and is still recovering after contracting the potentially-fatal disease - will be more determined when she returns to the ITV1 show because of recent events in her life.
Simon told The Sun newspaper: "My feeling when I spoke to her recently was that she was feeling in a better place mentally.
"No one wants to go through malaria, but she has definitely come out with a different perspective and I think you will see a sharp, focused Cheryl Cole when she returns to 'X Factor'.
"I am not even putting the personal stuff into this as well. You have to deal with that and I don't know how she coped with that to be honest."
Meanwhile, viewers of the show tonight (04.09.10) will see Simon refusing to call 'X Factor' hopeful Storm Lee by his name, telling him that it sounds "stupid".
The singer - who travelled from his current home in Los Angeles to appear on the show - changed his name at the age of 16 but Simon is not impressed.
He says: "What's your real name? I'm not going to call you Storm anymore, because I think it's a stupid name.
"I can't take you that seriously with calling you Storm and then trying to be a rock star, when it hasn't worked before and I don't think will work going forward."
'The X Factor' continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV1.
