David Walliams and Matt Lucas have begun filming a new comedy series, titled 'Come Fly With Me', in Doncaster.

David Walliams and Matt Lucas have started filming a new comedy series.

The 'Little Britain' duo - who were given BAFTA Awards for Best Comedy Series and Best Comedy Performance for the show - will return to the small screen later this year with six-part spoof series 'Come Fly With Me'.

The BBC show will be set in a busy airport and the actors have been filming scenes at Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood Airport.

The pair - who have written the six-part show themselves - will portray the two main characters, and will be joined by a number of guest stars throughout the series.

David is to play a moustachioed immigration officer called Ian and Matt will take on the role of a bearded airline official named Taaj.

Channel controller Jay Hunt said: "It's thrilling that Matt and David's next big show will be on BBC One. They are uniquely talented comic writers and performers, and Come Fly With Me is a wonderfully exciting idea."

The show is to be produced by Adam Tandy, whose credits include 'The Thick Of It' and directed by Paul King, who previously worked on 'The Mighty Boosh'.

This is the first major venture from David and Matt since 'Little Britain' spin-off 'Little Britain USA' was screened two years ago.
