James Sutton scared of screen kisses
'Emmerdale' actor James Sutton admits he hates filming kissing scenes on the show because they get watched by so many people
James Sutton hates filming 'Emmerdale' kissing scenes.
The actor - who plays mechanic Ryan Lamb in the soap - doesn't enjoy locking lips with his co-stars, because it's so "embarrassing" to do in front of 30 observing cast and crew members.
He said: "It's just not a sexy experience whatsoever. It's pretty embarrassing. How often do you snog someone in front of 30 other people? You become convinced that they are judging your technique. And it's completely silent, so all you hear is the sound of your own lips, which is just not a nice sound. It's not an erotic experience at all."
Before he started work on the rural show, James played gay student John Paul McQueen in 'Hollyoaks'.
Despite his dislike of kissing for the cameras, he didn't mind smooching his co-star Craig Dean (Guy Burnet).
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Kissing men doesn't particularly bother me - it's just like kissing a hairy girl - although there were a couple of times I came home from 'Hollyoaks' and my girlfriend said, 'You've actually got stubble rash and that's not a good look!' "
