'Coronation Street' actress Kym Marsh is set to watch her alter-ego Michelle Connor turn from a struggling single mum to become a high-flying businesswoman
Kym Marsh's 'Coronation Street' character is set to become a high-earning businesswoman.
The actress - who has played sexy Weatherfield barmaid Michelle Connor since 2006 - has landed a huge new storyline which will see her alter-ego transform from a struggling single mum to a wealthy fashion designer, and will secure Kym's future on the show.
Michelle's fate is set to change when she is offered a glitzy new job at her sister Carla Connor's knicker factory Underworld when she comes up with a novel idea for a new T-shirt line featuring changeable slogans.
However, the pretty character - whose son Ryan Connor (Ben Thompson) is about to go off to university - is offered bar work at Nick Tilsley (Ben Price)'s new bar at the same time.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Michelle wants to get out of the Rovers and Carla needs new blood. Michelle really enjoys turning Nick down.
"She says he can't afford her and she's not swapping one lot of drunks for another."
Michelle has been working at the Rovers Return pub for several years, and used to date owner Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
She even continued pulling pints for the locals when her ex-boyfriend had an affair with, and went on to marry, Becky McDonald (Katherine Kelly).
