Corrie! to come to London
'Coronation Street' musical 'Corrie!' is reportedly set to move to London's West End theatre district
The 'Coronation Street' musical is to be staged in London.
Producers of 'Corrie!' - which condenses the soap's 7,400 episodes into a two-hour production - are delighted by the response to the show since it launched in Salford, Greater Manchester, this week and are now planning to move it down to the capital's prestigious West End theatre district.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "We knew it was a great play but we've been bowled over by how well it's gone down.
"We're in talks with London theatres and we hope to have something tied up soon. Hopefully it will rank as one of the West End's top theatrical nights out."
'Corrie!' is narrated by Charles Lawson, who played Jim McDonald in the programme from 1989, who still makes reappearances from time to time, and will reprise the role again later this year.
The cast consists of Simon Chadwick, Katherine Dow Blyton and Matthew Wait, Leanne Best and Josie Walker.
