Dermot O'Leary wants US X Factor
TV presenter Dermot O'Leary admits he ''definitely wants a shot'' at the presenting job on the new American version of 'The X Factor' series.
Dermot O'Leary "definitely" wants to present the US version of 'X Factor'.
The presenter - who has fronted the UK talent show since 2007 - is unsure whether he will be asked to host the programme when it launches Stateside, but is adamant he won't "beg" for the role.
He said: "It's all in limbo at the moment. By the time this goes to print it might not be. I definitely want a shot at it. But I want them to want me to do it. I'm not going to beg for it. I don't want to get the job because they want a Brit. I want to get the job because I'm the best person for the job."
Dermot has also revealed he is planning on expanding his wardrobe for the next series of 'The X Factor' and has already been carefully preparing a number of different looks for each stage of the competition.
He explained to Grazia magazine: "There's the arena tour, which is quite smart, then Boot Camp, which is slightly less formal. Judges Houses is resort chic and then back to suits for the studio shows."
The next series of the British version of the show - which features judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole - launches on Saturday (21.08.10) on ITV1.
