The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers compared showcasing material from his new album at his first ever solo live show to 'cheating on my wife'
The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers' first ever solo live show felt "like cheating on my wife".
The 'Human' singer took to the stage without the rest of his band for the first time on Sunday (15.08.10), to perform a ten track set for 300 fans, including his father.
Describing the experience to The Sun newspaper, Brandon joked: "I feel disloyal, it's like cheating on my wife."
The singer played a ten song set in his hometown of Las Vegas, mostly drawing from his debut solo album 'Flamingo', with tracks including 'Crossfire' and 'On The Floor'.
He dedicated another of his new songs, 'Had Enough', to his wife Tana, saying: "This is about the more romantic side of things."
Brandon, 29, also included a cover of 80s ballad 'Bettie Davis Eyes' by Kim Carnes and ended his set with standout cut from 'Flamingo', 'Playing With Fire'.
Brandon has said he made this solo record while his main band is on hiatus, because he isn't comfortable resting easy and has hit a creative peak.
Explaining how he told the rest of the band - bassist Mark Stoermer, guitarist Dave Keuning and drummer Ronnie Vannucci - about his solo ambitions, he said: "I told them, this isn't about getting attention or proving something, it's just what I'm accustomed to doing. There's a bit of a fear of mine to not perform for a long time. For seven years I've been cultivating this - really working on trying to be comfortable onstage."
'Flamingo' is released on September 6 in the UK.
