The Wombats to release comeback single
British band The Wombats have revealed they will release their comeback single - 'Tokyo (Vampires and Wolves)' - on September 27.
The Wombats are set to release their comeback single on September 27.
The indie rockers - whose last single 'My Circuitboard City' was released in March 2009 - have promised their new record 'Tokyo (Vampires and Wolves)' marks a change of direction from their 2007 debut album 'A Guide To Love, Loss and Desperation'.
Drummer Dan Haggis said: "We've approached this album slightly differently from the last. Whereas the first album was practically recorded live with a few overdubs, this time round we've had the time to really play with the sonics. Now we just can't wait to get out there and get sweaty."
The 'Moving to New York' hitmakers - who are currently putting the finishing touches to their upcoming second album - revealed the new single is produced by Eric Valentine, while the album features a collaboration with Jacknife Lee, who has produced tracks for the likes of U2 and Snow Patrol.
According to the band - which is made up of Matthew Murphy, Dan and Tord Overland-Knudsen - the new as of yet untitled album will see The Wombats progress to a "darker, more serious approach" to music.
