Nick Tilsley to open Rovers rival
'Coronation Street's Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) is to open a wine bar aimed at the ''younger, cooler'' customers of the Rovers Return.
Nick Tilsley is to open a bar on 'Coronation Street'.
The businessman - played by Ben Price - will use money he makes from selling his share of the Underworld factory to finance his plans to open a wine bar in the old joinery, much to the shock of Rovers Return landlady Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard).
A source said: "The Joinery will really give the Rovers Return cause to worry.
"Nick taunts Liz about her pub being out of date, and it hurts, because the comments hit on a few home truths.
"They will lose a lot of the younger, cooler crowds."
Nick then offers ex-wife Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) - who had planned a similar venture with partner Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) last year - a job managing his new bar.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "Nick and Leanne clearly have unfinished business. Peter will encourage her to go for her dream, but it could backfire in his face."
