Sheree Murphy takes break
Sheree Murphy is to be briefly written out of 'Hollyoaks' to spend time with her family, but will return to screens later this year
Sheree Murphy is taking a break from 'Hollyoaks'.
The 34-year-old actress - who has three children with her soccer star spouse Harry Kewell - initially planned not to extend her contract but after her husband's proposed move to the US was cancelled, she has renewed her deal with the soap, but will disappear briefly from screen.
Sheree - who plays Anita Roy's (Saira Choudhry) birth mother Eva - told website Digital Spy: "Sadly, because we thought that my husband's football career was going to take us to the States, I was unable to sign another contract with 'Hollyoaks'.
"However, our circumstances have now changed and I've told Paul Marquess, the producer, that if storylines allow, I would love to continue in the role of Eva."
Paul is thrilled that the former 'Emmerdale' star is to stay on the show, and is already working on her return storyline.
He said: "I'm a huge fan of Sheree's and I think Eva is a great character who really comes into her own in the next few months. The stuff that viewers will soon see on screen is absolutely hilarious between Eva and an embarrassed Anita.
"Sheree will be taking a little break on screen because of her family commitments, but we're already thinking about how we'll bring her back."
