Javier Bardem and Julia Roberts for Glee?
Oscar-winning actor is said to be ''obsessed'' with his US musical show 'Glee' and has begged producers for a starring role in an upcoming episode, with Julia Roberts to play his screen wife
Javier Bardem and Julia Roberts are being lined up to star in 'Glee'.
The Oscar-winning stars are now being written into the programme after Javier begged producer Ryan Murphy for a role as a Spanish rock star in the musical TV series, with Julia claiming she would love to play his screen wife.
Creator-and-director Ryan explained to Access Hollywood: "I went up and I congratulated him about his very pretentious Best Actor Award at Cannes, because he wins those things, and he said, 'I don't want to talk about that, I want to talk about 'Glee.'
"I thought the Brando of our time would have no interest in 'Glee' but he watched all the DVDs and he knew everything about the characters - he was obsessed about the show and wanted to know what was happening next. He said, 'Can I come on the show? Would you write me a role?' and I thought he was kidding.
"He's obsessed with this idea of him being a Spanish rock 'n' roll star. I don't know how we're gonna do it. We have to do it. And Julia said she would come in at the very end and play his wife or something with one line. She overheard Javier talking and she said, 'That I would do'."
It was recently revealed 'Glee' bosses are keen to get 'Britain's Got Talent' star Susan Boyle on board for a Christmas special.
Ryan also confirmed he had received a mix tape from Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney with songs written specially for the hit show.
