Neil Morrissey is to return to TV playing a gay dad.
The 48-year-old actor - who claimed last year he was quitting acting for good - will appear in BBC3 sitcom 'The Inn Mates' alongside former 'Coronation Street' stars Johnny Dixon and PoppyJhakra.
In the show, Neil plays a sperm donor named Brian who is tracked down by one of his IVF offspring, played by Joe Tracini - the son of comedian Joe Pasquale - who blackmails him into being a proper father.
The show's writer John Warburton said: "Getting Neil was a brilliant coup. The main characters are Joe and Neil as well as a group of twenty-somethings struggling with a quarter life crisis."
The show was filmed in 'Coronation Street' actress Beverley Callard's former pub in Cheshire.
Neil quit acting last year after 25 years in the entertainment industry saying he no longer enjoyed being on TV and wanted to focus on the 17th century Yorkshire inn he owned with a friend.
But after the failure of another pub, the New Three Mariners in Wales, he was left millions of pounds in debt.
