Kirsty Gallacher's 'incredible' wedding
TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher admits her wedding day to rugby union player Paul Sampson last month was ''incredible''
Kirsty Gallacher's wedding day was more "incredible" than she ever thought possible.
The TV presenter tied the knot to her boyfriend-of-nine- years, rugby union player Paul Sampson, in the idyllic surroundings of a Spanish town on July 24, during a ceremony with 100 of their closest friends and family members.
She said: "We wanted our wedding to be a real family occasion, with close friends and lots of children and we had that. But it was more incredible than we could ever have wished for."
Despite being together for almost a decade, both Kirsty and Paul were incredibly nervous before the ceremony, and the rugby player welled up as he saw the beauty walking down the aisle.
She told Hello! magazine: "I'm not one to hand around and nor is my dad, and both of us were so nervous we just wanted to get to the front. I knew Paul would be nervous at that point too. When we reached the altar, I could see he had tears in his eyes, which was very moving."
After the ceremony in a local church in the historic Arcos De La Frontera town in southern Spain, the newlyweds and their families partied into the night.
Kirsty explained: "We danced to Stevie Wonder's 'You Are the Sunshine of My Life', then it switched to David Bowie's 'Let's Dance' and everyone got up. It was past midnight by this time, but my mum and Paul's mum were still going strong at 4am and Paul and I called it a night at about 5.30am."
Kirsty and Paul have two sons together, Oscar, three, and six-month-old Jude.
After their wedding, the couple remained in Spain for a week's honeymoon.
