Konnie Huq's Xtra hopes
'Xtra Factor' presenter Konnie Huq admits she hopes her work on the reality show will prove she is more than just a former 'Blue Peter' presenter.
Konnie Huq hopes 'The Xtra Factor' will prove she's more than just a 'Blue Peter' presenter.
The TV personality - who presented the daily children's TV show for over 10 years - recently landed the job hosting the 'X Factor's ITV2 spin-off show, where she hopes she will be able to show off her presenting talents and prove herself.
She said: "The good thing with the 'Xtra Factor' is that maybe I won't be thought of as an ex-'Blue Peter' presenter for much longer. I don't want to be thought of as a one-hit wonder."
The 35-year-old star has an economics degree from Cambridge University and hoped to be an actress before falling into TV presenting.
Despite her varied background, Konnie admits she sympathises with a lot of the 'X Factor' hopefuls, because she was always "rubbish at lots of things".
She explained to The Observer Magazine: "I can empathise with the ones with terrible voices but have the best day of their lives. The triers. I was one of these people, rubbish at lots of things, but I tried! Really hard!"
