Cameron Diaz was saved by The Stig after she broke down halfway around a lap on car show 'Top Gear'
Cameron Diaz was rescued by The Stig after breaking her car on 'Top Gear'.
The Hollywood beauty was taking part in the "star in a reasonably priced car" challenge, when she came to an abrupt stop after wrecking her gearbox halfway around the track, and had to be rescued by the mysterious car expert.
She reportedly said: "I had a several words with the gearstick. It was kinda ugly in there!"
Despite struggling to complete the lap, the 37-year-old beauty admits she had an excellent time on the show - which is hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.
She explained: "I loved top gear, it was fantastic. It was one of my favourite experiences. I love Jeremy. He's a great host. He's so much fun."
Cameron's 'Knight and Day' co-star Tom Cruise seemingly had a smoother ride, as he zoomed around the track at great speed.
The pair filmed scenes on the show yesterday, after Tom - a self-confessed 'Top Gear' fan - begged bosses to let him appear.
Speaking at the UK premiere of his new action film 'Knight and Day' in London's Leicester Square last night (22.07.10), Tom told BANG Showbiz: "It was so much fun, I couldn't wait to do it. I've wanted to do it for so many years. Jeremy's funny. I've seen the show so many times so i was very relaxed. We were all just hanging out. All of the people there have been doing it for so many years. I got to drive some amazing cars and it was really fun. It was really exciting for me."
