Matt Smith sticks with Doctor
'Doctor Who' actress Karen Gillan admits her co-star Matt Smith - who plays the titular Timelord - has no plans to leave the show for the foreseeable future
Karen Gillan claims Matt Smith has no plans to quit 'Doctor Who'.
The pretty actress - who plays the titular Timelord's new assistant Amy Pond in the sci-fi TV series - has revealed her co-star will be "sticking around" on the show for the foreseeable future, and has no plans to leave.
Responding to reports Matt was considering quitting to start a movie career, she told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "Matt will be sticking around. I think those rumours were made up."
The 22-year-old actress also revealed the pair had already started working on the programme's Christmas special.
Writer Stephen Moffat recently admitted he was "so excited" about the upcoming episode, which would include a host of exciting storylines.
He said: "We're going for broke with this one. It's all your favourite Christmas movies at once, in an hour, with monsters and the Doctor and a honeymoon and - oh, you'll see.
"I've honestly never been so excited about writing anything. I was laughing madly as I typed along to Christmas songs in April."
