'Loose Women' actress Jane McDonald is taking a break from the lunchtime chat show so she can focus on the TV career
Jane McDonald is taking a break from 'Loose Women' to concentrate on her music career.
Making the announcement today (16.07.10), the former cruise ship performer revealed she is "taking some time out" from the show, but plans to leave the door open for a future return to the ITV1 programme.
She said: "I am going to be taking some time out from 'Loose Women' purely because things are going to be a bit hectic over the next few months.
"I have had an absolute ball over the last six years and am going to miss everyone so much. But don't worry, when it's calmed down a bit I'll be back."
Jane, 47 is working on an album and DVD and plans to tour Australia and the UK over the next few months.
The Yorkshire-born singer and actress has been a regular host on the panel of the lunchtime chat show - alongside presenters such as Lynda Bellingham, Carol McGiffin and Denise Welch - for six years.
She first found fame in the fly-on-the-wall BBC show 'The Cruise' in the 90s before becoming a daytime TV presenter.
Jane completed her eponymous eighth album in 2008, reaching number seven in the UK album charts.
Throughout her time on 'Loose Women' she continued to tour with her band performing in theatres across the country.
