Jem Costello's family angst
'Hollyoaks' character Jem Costello is left ''anxious'' when he family move into the village
Jem Costello is "anxious" when her family move into 'Hollyoaks'.
The pretty barmaid - who is played by Helen Russell-Clark - feels claustrophobic when her father, stepmother and half-siblings move into the village where she recently settled after coming back from travelling.
Helen revealed: "She feels as though they're invading her space. Jem's found a place that she can call her own, and suddenly her entire family have taken up residence there as well. It makes her feel quite anxious."
The brunette beauty has also revealed a "big family secret" is set to emerge over the next few weeks as her character's relatives gradually settle into life as the new owners of the Dog in the Pond pub.
She told Inside Soap magazine: "There's a lot of tension between Jem and her dad. They haven't seen each other for over three years, as Jem's been travelling the world. She has a really nice relationship with her stepmum, Heidi, and her half-brothers Riley and Seth, though. But there's a big family secret to be revealed later down the line, which explains her frostiness towards her father."
