Ali Bastian Strictly supports Brian
Former 'Hollyoaks' actress Ali Bastian admits she ''stands by'' her boyfriend Brian Fortuna in his decision to quit 'Strictly Come Dancing' following the recent shake-up by bosses
Ali Bastian "stands by" boyfriend Brian Fortuna's decision to leave 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The former 'Hollyoaks' actress - who got together with the professional dancer after they were partnered together in last year's series - explained the new role Brian was offered was not what he was looking for.
She told Britain's OK! magazine: "He decided not to stay because they were giving him a very different role. He would have been in a dance troupe rather than be partnered with a celebrity, and it wasn't the role he was looking for, so he decided to take the opportunity to move on.
"I really stand by his decision."
The blonde beauty - who also played the part of PC Sally Armstrong in 'The Bill' for over two years - admitted she is "so sad" the drama is coming to an end later in the year.
She said: "I'm so sad. It's a place where a lot of actors cut their teeth, and it's something that showcases new talent, and I really don't know what's going to take its place. It's really sad for the industry. I just hope they fill the slot with some good drama."
