Gavin and Stacey return to TV
Ruth Jones has confirmed she and James Corden are discussing writing a special one-off episode of 'Gavin & Stacey'.
'Gavin & Stacey' may return for a one-off special.
Writers Ruth Jones and James Corden had previously insisted that the hit sit-com - which ended after its third series in January - would never make a comeback, but now the Welshwoman admits they plan to pen another episode.
Ruth - who played Nessa in the show - told fans in Barry, South Wales, where the show is set: "It looks like there will be a 'Gavin & Stacey' special sometime in the future. It will show how things worked out for Gavin and Stacey - and for Nessa and Smithy."
Comic Rob Brydon - who played Uncle Bryn - also spoke about a possible special episode.
He said: "There may be a special one day - it's being talked about."
Insiders believe the one-off show is being planned for Christmas 2011.
A source at Baby Cow Productions, who made the show, said: "Talks about a one-off special, perhaps for Christmas next year, are well under way. It's a question of when Ruth and James can get together to start writing it."
The final episode showed Nessa and Smithy - played by James - reunited and sitting on the beach with their baby son Neil and best friends Gavin and Stacey, who were portrayed by Mat Horne and Joanna Page respectively.
