Scouting For Girls are set to appear in 'Emmerdale' after being approached by producers on the ITV1 soap

Scouting For Girls are set to appear in 'Emmerdale'.

The 'She's So Lovely' hitmakers - made up of Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse and Peter Ellard - have been approached by producers on the ITV1 soap to have cameos in their favourite show.

They told The Sun newapaper: "The best idea so far is that our tour bus breaks down as it's passing through the village. Our all-time favourite character is Seth - and we all loved it when that plane crashed and wiped out half the cast."

The group are such fans of the show, they have already played an acoustic set in the Woolpack pub for a local radio station.

Speaking about the performance, Roy has previously said: "We went on Radio Aire. It was part of a radio tour: 70 stations in nine days. JK and Joel were having an 'Emmerdale' week; the show was live from the Woolpack and we played a couple of songs there.

"Pete, our drummer, is a ridiculously massive fan. Everyone laughs when I tell them because there aren't that many 20-something drummers that are so into it.

"When we were there, he spoke to the producer about trying to get us into the show. An Indie-pop band that was just driving along, breaks down on tour, maybe goes for a drink somewhere, winds up in 'Emmerdale'."
