Craig Revel Horwood Strictly backs Hough
'Strictly Come Dancing' judge Craig Revel Horwood has admitted he would love dancer Derek Hough to join the new series of the hit BBC One show
Craig Revel Horwood would love Derek Hough to join the new series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The choreographer - who is well-known for his cutting comments - revealed his fellow judge Bruno Tonioli is a good friend of the dancer and it would be "fabulous" if he could join their TV dance show team.
He said: "That'd be fabulous. Not only is he gorgeous, but he's a brilliant dancer, a fantastic teacher and an amazing choreographer - you don't usually get that in one package. I have met him, but it's Bruno who knows him very well. It was Bruno who suggested Derek to Cheryl for the 'Parachute' video."
When it comes to this year's celebrity contestants, the acid-tongued judge admitted having a member of the royal family on the show would be "a dream come true".
He explained to OK! magazine: "I've read rumours about Kelly Osbourne and Sarah Ferguson in the press, but we're always the last people who actually know. Wouldn't Sarah Ferguson be a dream come true? You need a little bit of royalty, or even ex-royalty, on the show."
However, the 45-year-old dancer revealed 'Strictly Come Dancing' is just a "Saturday job" for him and his fellow judges Len Goodman, Alesha Dixon and Bruno.
He said: "'Strictly.' is a three or four-month commitment for the professional dancers and celebs. It's a Saturday job for the judges - a great format and a fun thing to do, but it's not a career move. I get booked up to two years in advance for choreography and theatre directing - that's my real job."
