Pauline Quirke's Emmerdale tears
New 'Emmerdale' actress Pauline Quirke admits she ''had a little cry'' when she first visited the set of the rural ITV1 soap
Pauline Quirke burst into tears when she first visited the 'Emmerdale' set.
The actress - who has landed the part of Jackson Walsh's mother Hazel in the rural soap - admits she was completely overwhelmed when she filmed her first scenes on the show and saw iconic pub The Woolpack.
She told Radio Aire: "Last Wednesday was my first scene. It was in the village - that village is unbelievable. I cried when I saw The Woolpack. My mum absolutely loved 'Emmerdale' and so to get on set and actually see that Woolpack, it was actually really emotional so I had a little cry. But then I pulled myself together!"
Pauline - whose scenes will be shown on the television in August - was also shocked with how "nice" and welcoming her new colleagues have been.
The actress has been looking forward to starting work on the show since she was cast earlier this year.
At the time, she said: "The show has really moved on; it's consistently good, there are some great characters and great storylines. I've never done anything like this before so it's something different for me and I'm very happy to be a part of it."
Series producer recently revealed the former 'Birds of a Feather' star will be involved in an "enormous and gripping" storyline from the offset.
