I'm A Celeb goes HD
'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' is to set to go high definition, have bigger stars and run for longer
'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' is to set to go high definition - so viewers can see stars perform gruesome tasks close-up.
The £20million revamp of the hit ITV reality show will also extend the celebrities' stay in the Australian jungle and get bigger names for this year's 10th series.
A source said: "Television as a whole may be suffering from budget cuts, but everyone is determined to spend whatever it takes to make 'I'm A Celeb' a success.
"HD is now a must for all our big shows, but it will cost another £500,000 to do it in Australia."
The line-up will feature around 13 celebrities who will battle it out to win the show after performing a series of tasks including eating creepy crawlies and sleeping rough.
Bosses say final names are still being put together.
It will kick off on November 12 and will again be hosted by TV favourites Ant and Dec.
The insider added: "Given that spend, and the sort of celebrities we're hoping to attract this year, it's certainly worth adding on a few extra days for the increased advertising and sponsorship revenue we can attract."
Celebrities rumoured to be up for the show - last year won by chef Gino D'Acampo - include footballer John Terry's long-suffering wife Toni.
Bosses are said to be desperate to sign up the 29-year-old WAG in the hope she dishes the dirt on her marriage after John's alleged affair.
