Emma Crosby fired from GMTV?

Emma Crosby has been fired from 'GMTV'.
The 33-year-old presenter - who joined the ITV morning show from Sky News 18 months ago - was reportedly told earlier this week that she was not part of the plans for the revamped programme, which will return in September fronted by former 'One Show' co-hosts Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley.
An ITV source confirmed to the Mail Online: "Emma will be leaving us, however, we are keen to work with her on fresh projects.
"There has been so much speculation, but at least it is official now and we can all move on."
Emma's £120,000-a-year deal was due to finish at the end of this year, but all 'GMTV' presenters have a three-month 'get out' clause in their contract.
While Emma is leaving the show, bosses have reassured Kate Garraway that she is still part of their plans for the new programme.
However the 43-year-old presenter is reportedly only going to be covering for Christine as the show's anchor when she is on holiday and will present occasional special interview segments, prompting insiders to speculate she will not accept a new deal.
One source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "After being one of the stars for so long, she will need a lot of thinking time before she decides if she wants to be second best to Christine."
Meanwhile, the BBC are said to have banned all former 'GMTV' presenters from their shortlist for the 'One Show' presenting role.
A source said: "We don't want any 'GMTV' cast-offs. We will either go with an unknown and turn them into a star - as we did with Christine - or pick from some of the big names that are really keen to screen-test."
